As the children arrived at Abbotsbury Explorers they were encouraged to paint a colour wheel. Whilst this dried they used a smaller colour wheel and colour sheet to mark off the colours they could find, and went off in their groups to explore Abbotsbury gardens. Filling bags with fallen petals and using coloured paper clips to attach to the wheel the children stayed focussed. After a picnic lunch the children enjoyed crawling through tunnels, feeding the fish in the pond and chasing bubbles.
Back at pre-school children created their own mud kitchen in the veranda, mixing soil, sand, corks, fir cones, pebbles and cutting up leaves to create their dishes.
At the allotments we tried an experiment to see if we could find children wearing their hi-vis easier than the children not wearing one. Obviously this just turned into playing animals in the jungle.
